
Recognized in France and internationally, the French violinist Elsa Grether is a regular guest at prestigious venues and festivals: Carnegie Weill in New York, Les Folles Journées in Nantes, Printemps des Arts in Monte-Carlo, Berlioz, Menton, Sully and Loiret Festivals, Abbeys in Lorraine, Fontevraud, Musicales de Normandie, Flagey and Bozar in Belgium, Radio Suisse Romande and Musiques en Été Festival in Geneva, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice, among many others.
As a soloist with orchestra, she has performed the great concertos of the repertoire, from Bach and Mozart to Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns, Sibelius, Dvořák, Prokofiev and Tomasi, notably with the Orchestre National de Mulhouse, Cannes, Bryansk, the Lebanese Philharmonic, the Indiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the German-Czech Chamber Orchestra.
She has notably performed the Sibelius Concerto with François-Xavier Roth and the Jeune Symphonie de l’Aisne and members of Les Siècles, as well as the Tomasi Concerto with Jacques Lacombe and the Mulhouse Symphony Orchestra.
She has performed in recital in many European venues, including the Berlin Philharmonie, the Folle Journée in Nantes, as well as in Paris (Invalides, Salle Cortot, Petit Palais), Liège, Düsseldorf, Reims and Antibes.
Recent highlights include Kurt Weill’s Violin Concerto, Respighi’s Poema Autunnale and Ravel’s Kaddish at Les Invalides in Paris as a soloist with the Orchestre de l’Armée de l’Air, as well as recitals at Flagey in Brussels, Amiens Maison de la Culture, Soissons Cité de la Musique et de la Danse, at the Priory of Marast (creation with contemporary flamenco dance around the CD Granada ), at the Maison Jean Cocteau and at the Abbey Church of Ebersmunster (Homage to Albert Schweitzer).
Her recordings released by Outhere — Poème Mystique (2013), French Résonance (2015) with pianists Ferenc Vizi and François Dumont, Kaléidoscope (2017) devoted to the repertoire for solo violin, and Prokofiev with pianist David Lively (2019) — have been unanimously praised by the press: FFFF from Télérama , 5 Diapasons, 5 stars from Classica…
