At the crossroads of the concert and the theatrical performance, Ève Noire offers an immersive and deeply expressive musical journey, driven by the performers’ presence and their encounter with the Other.

On stage, the two musicians create a living dialogue in which timbres, gestures and musical energies respond to one another. Music becomes storytelling, and the concert unfolds as a theatrical experience.

Video projections, filmed primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, interact with the performers throughout the performance. They extend the music, echo the performers’ gestures and create a visual space that enhances the dramatic dimension of the work.

A dedicated lighting design shapes the stage space, highlighting the musical tensions, contrasts and moments of stillness.

Despite their differences, their fears and their conflicts, will the two protagonists learn to listen to one another, to see one another, to understand one another—and perhaps even to love one another ?

Through music, the staging gives form to this fragile possibility.
